Check out my video about SMART GOALS vs making a BOLD STATEMENT!
Planning a Goal-Setting Party for my girlfriends had me thinking about how I plan my goals each year . For the last couple of years I’ve used The SMART Goal method (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Timely). This has worked well because I am established in my career and most of all, I am happy with my work. For The SMART Goal method to work, you MUST know where you’re going.
Before using The SMART Goal method, I simply had DREAMS.
I will be an entrepreneur
I will travel the world
I will own my first home before the age of 30.
It was simple and especially coming from a person who day-dreams too often for her own good. The truth is I wanted a business and I wanted to call it Competitive Creations, and I wanted this without knowing how I would make my first dollar or what the company would do to survive. I wanted to travel the world- THE END, and since the day I rescued Dakota, while living on a third floor apartment, I told her over and over that I would buy her home one day with a big backyard. These thoughts, these projections were helpful in guiding me to accomplishing my goals. I’m 27 and have lived through each of those dreams.
My new dreams are to grow my business, launch a second business, and become a legit public speaker. I’m throwing it out in the universe and 2014 will bring me opportunities that align with these goals, I can feel it!
What are your dreams? Make your BOLD statement NOW!!!!!
